Greetings from Canada!

Marc and my first anniversary didn't go so well. We had lived in Washington for less than a year at the time, and hadn't done too much exploring outside of our area. After a little research, we decided to go down to Long Beach, Washington. We found an adorable little hotel and left early from work on Friday to go down and enjoy a weekend on the coast to celebrate our first year as a married couple. The hotel was incredible. It's called Adrift Hotel and you should DEFINITELY check it out if you want to spend a weekend in Long Beach. It's chic and wonderfully decorated and so cozy. We had Chinese food in our suite that night and got up the next morning to explore. I immediately found a place to ride horses on the beach. We signed up for a session and spent the time waiting for it to start wandering along the cold, blustery beach. My horse was named Earnhardt. He was sweet. It really wasn't his fault. Long story short, Earnhardt wasn't happy about going on o...

In honor of St. Patrick's Day...

Here are some of my favorite pictures from when we were in Dublin last fall! It breaks my heart to go through pictures from our time in Europe. I feel like it was over too quickly, and all I want to do is go back. The view from our hotel room, which was huge and gorgeous. We were so exhausted by this point in the trip, a little (a lot of) coffee was definitely needed.  I picked up this little guy in Rome and took pictures of him in different places for the rest of our trip. I'm drinking my morning coffee today out of that Dublin mug, in honor of St. Patrick's Day.  Ahhh, Trinity College. If only I had all the money, I would work my butt off to go to grad school here. On campus at Trinity College. We also got to go to the Trinity College library, which was one of the highlights of the trip for me. I nearly cried for the beauty of it. However, pictures were not allowed. Google it.   Gorgeous Dublin Castle. Near Dublin Castle.  St...

Europe Trip 2012: Part 1: Paris

I have been so excited to blog about my trip to Europe, but it seemed like such a daunting task. We were on vacation for 24 days total, and I'm sure you can imagine the amount of pictures that we took! Our trip started after work on October 19th. We got off early and a friend drove us down to the airport.  (side note: I love airports! I will sometimes plan trips with layovers when it would be just a little more expensive to fly direct so that I can see more airports. That much.) We took off from Seattle around 4:30 p.m. and showed up in Reykjavik, Iceland very early the next morning. Pillow that they gave us on the airplane. We flew IcelandAir to Europe. They were great!  The sun coming up over Iceland right before we landed.  I was very excited to get to Reykjavik because it was the very first country outside of the United States that I have ever been to! My dad was in the Coast Guard while I was growing up, so I have been very lucky to see almost all of MY...
